Thomas (Todd) J. McCarthy III was born in Rio de Janeiro,
Brazil and brought up in Brazil, Spain and the United States.
Todd has over 18 years of experience as a senior executive
in Sales, Marketing and General Management within various
high-technology companies. Most recently he was a Partner
with Heidrick & Struggles and a member of the Global Technology
Practice. While there, Todd successfully completed searches
for CEOs, COOs, CFOs, CIOs and heads of Sales, Marketing and
Business Development. In his first year with the firm he received
the Global Technology Practice “Rookie of the Year”
Award.
Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Todd was with the
venture capital firm of TechInspirations, where he helped
portfolio companies with the development and execution of
‘go-2-market’ strategies.
Previously he served as Vice President of Worldwide Sales
for Restrac, Inc., now Webhire, and the leading provider of
human resource staffing solutions. As one of the key officers
at Restrac, he was responsible for all sales revenue, which
nearly tripled in 2 years, enabling Restrac to complete a
successful IPO in 1996.
Additionally, Todd was the Vice President of Sales at Saratoga
Systems, a leading provider of CRM solutions. He began his
software career with MSA and Software 2000. Prior to his professional
business career, he served as a Captain in the United States
Marine Corps.
Todd earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from
Merrimack College. He also holds a Masters in Business Administration
from Northeastern University with a specialization in high-tech.
He has taught the New Venture Creation course as an Adjunct
Professor, to MBA students at Northeastern University’s
business school.
Todd is one of the founders of NETSEA.org (New England Technology
Sales, Marketing and Business Development Executives Association).
He is a member of the board and Treasurer. Todd also sits
on the board of Xradical.com.
